01Be honest about your item
Use recent photos of the actual item. Show damage, describe faults and explain what is included. Give model details where relevant and do not claim an item is authentic without a reasonable basis.
02Prohibited items
Do not offer stolen or counterfeit goods, weapons or ammunition, illegal drugs, prescription medicines, hazardous or recalled products, identity documents, financial accounts or personal data. Animals, sexual services and content involving exploitation are also prohibited.
Only exchange items that are lawful to possess and transfer in every location involved in the swap. This list is not exhaustive; local restrictions still apply.
03Check before exchanging
Ask about condition and ownership. Inspect and test the item where possible, and compare it with the listing before handing anything over. A match or approval is not an authenticity check, valuation or guarantee.
Watch for pressure to act quickly, unusual links, requests for sign-in codes or demands for advance fees. Swapath does not charge to unlock matches or chat. In a Multi swap, confirm with everyone which item each person will give and receive before proceeding.
04Arrange a safer handover
Choose a well-lit public place and tell someone where you are going. Consider bringing someone with you. Avoid publishing your home address and leave if you feel unsafe.
If you choose delivery, agree who arranges it, who pays and what happens if an item is lost or does not match its description. Consider tracked delivery and keep proof of dispatch. Swapath does not provide shipping protection or escrow.
05Protect your personal information
Never share passwords, one-time sign-in codes or identity documents with another participant. Check photos for addresses, documents and other personal details before uploading them.
Before handing over electronics, back up what you need, sign out, remove linked accounts and erase your personal data. Remove personal details from packaging too.
Keep important arrangements in the swap conversation so participants can refer back to them. Chat messages are not end-to-end encrypted; avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.
Use [email protected] for support, privacy requests and reports. Automated swap notifications may come from [email protected]; send questions to the support address. Swapath support will not ask for your password or one-time sign-in codes.
06Respect others and report concerns
Threats, harassment, discriminatory abuse, spam and pressure to complete an unwanted exchange are not allowed. If your plans change, let the other participants know promptly.
To report a concern, email [email protected] with the listing or match link, relevant dates and a short explanation. Keep relevant messages and include screenshots if helpful, but avoid sending unnecessary personal or sensitive information. Do not download or forward images of child sexual abuse; report their location instead.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Swapath support is not an emergency response service.
